A call in the distance broke the silence and John stood up, but he couldn't get himself to leave the room. His mom stood at the end of the hallway staring straight at him. The stare that he was all to familiar with could break down any man and when he was around his parents he felt the need to look at the ground below him. He hated the fact that they thought that they were better than him and that he was some sort of alien. Like anything else he knew he couldn't do anything about it but imagine that it didn't exist in his perfect world that lived in his mind. His dad now joined his mom and they called out once again knowing they would not get an answer. His dad, who didn't want john to leave, stepped forward and grabbed John by the arms dragging him through the house and again John did not say a word.
There was a straight black car sitting out in front of the house awaiting its new prisoner. John had been dragged to the door and the driver grabbed him by the collar and "helped" John into the backseat. John watched as his house fade into the distance along with his family and when they were not but a dot in the distance he sat back. John liked it in this car even though he knew where it was taking him. There was a glass plate blocking him from the driver and like his room he was free to join the perfect world inside his head. The car drove through the night and eventually John had fallen asleep.
It was around 4:00 in the morning and the car slowly cam to a stop in front of some sort of hospital. John was thrown out and the driver went up to a man in a white coat standing near the entrance. The man in the white coat was Mr. Noodles and as john had did what he had always done when meeting knew people. He stared at his feet and didn't say a word. Mr. Noodles glared down at John in a friendly manner but after a couple seconds he grew impatient and he turned and walked away. His coat flying in the wind.
John was told to follow Mr. Noodles into the hospital and listen to everything he said. John was only 10 when he entered the hospital and he stared at everyone bigger and older that passed. He did not like his new home one bit. Mr. Noodles opened a door and John ran inside and it seemed he had made it to safety. He didn't notice Mr. Orange sitting in the chair across the room and when he heard his booming voice he almost hit his head on the desk he was hiding behind. He slowly moved his head up to look at the old man sitting across from him.
Mr. Noodles Started talking to Mr. Orange right away. He had said that John was their new friend and that he had a speech disorder, or in other words he was a mute. Mr. Orange looked at Johns eyes and calmly told him that they would help him. John did not necessarily want to be helped he liked being able to journey through his mind in silence he just wanted to be safe in his room right now. The old man held out his hand but John just stared. Eventually the old man pulled back and Mr.Noodles took john to his room.
John ran in and shut the door behind him when he arrived. He was unhappy when he realized how thin the walls were and he could hear everything going on outside. There was a single window in the back of the room and it was barred shut. There was a small mattress on the ground with a thin blanket and pillow laying on top of it. John was tired and he sat down on the small bed. He looked up trying to understand what was going on but like always he was trapped inside his head and with all the noise going on he couldn't think. He closed the pillow around his ears and slowly drifted into sleep.
A bang on the door awoke John and he knew it was time for breakfast. He got off of the bed and went over to the corner of the room by the window where his calender sat. He marked down 2191 under the day. It had been 6 years in this hospital for John and he was still as silent as ever. He was not living in this hospital every single day seemed as though it was a twisted dream. He had sat through everything not saying a word and not paying attention. John was uncooperative and he knew his time at this hospital would end soon.
He walked to the door and when he opened it he was surprised to see Mr. Noodles at the door. He was grabbed by the neck and he realized he was sick of being pushed around. He broke free and when Mr. Noodles turned around he punched as hard as he could. He felt the impact of his fist and then a sharp pain in his neck. He fell over to the floor and Mr. Orange was standing over him with a needle.
He woke up in a completely white room. He saw three people sitting on the other side of a window. They were surrounded by machines and as John tried to get up he realized he was strapped down. Mr. Orange's voice boomed through an intercom. He had said "John you have been uncooperative in our attempts to fix you in the last 6 years and it is now time to get you to listen the hard way." A lever was pulled and a shock was sent to Johns head. He cringed at the feeling but didn't say anything. The shocks would continue until John said something or until he passed. Each shock grew stronger and stronger until it reached the lethal amount. Mr. Orange gave a warning to John but when no answer came he pulled the last lever. A single tear fell down Johns cheek and as he fell limp there were no sounds. It was completely silent as the workers went to get his body. Nothing moved or made a noise almost as if it was giving John the final moments of silence that he had lived with and learned to love.
Johns death went unnoticed as did many other and he was soon dropped in the forever growing line to the crematorium. John was son forgotten and put into a smooth handmade can that had almost no deformities. Like John that can was simple on the outside but on the inside it contained something extremely incredible that would never be seen or heard.
